How Much Does It Cost to Ship Phone Cases from China? Shipping Methods & Quote Checklist

04 November, 2026 Product Knowledge Admin

There is no single shipping price for every bulk phone case order from China. The quote depends on the packed shipment, route, delivery deadline and services included—not just the number of cases. For B2B buyers shipping phone cases from China, start by confirming the products and retail packaging. Get the carton measurements, then compare shipping quotes that include the same services.

Compare the service—not just the transport name

This guide concerns wholesale cartons and B2B orders. A consumer’s single-case postage or sample parcel is not a reliable rate for a bulk shipment.

Method When to request a quote What to compare
Express courier Time-sensitive orders or manageable carton quantities. Chargeable weight per parcel, service limits, surcharges, customs arrangements and delivery postcode.
Air freight Bulk cargo where timing matters and a forwarder can price the route. Airport-to-airport versus door delivery; weight basis, minimum charges, terminal handling and onward delivery.
Sea freight Orders with a delivery window that accommodates consolidation and ocean transport. LCL versus FCL, volume/weight basis, minimums, origin/destination handling and delivery from the port.

No method is automatically cheapest. Ask for the same packed quantity, origin, destination and inclusions. A low international freight line can exclude charges needed to reach your address.

DHL’s LCL cost guide identifies origin and destination charges in addition to freight. Ask the quoting party to identify the billing basis and minimums for your shipment.

Four measurements buyers should keep separate

Product net weight, packed carton gross weight and external dimensions contribute different information to a shipping quote
Measure each sealed carton; the selected service determines the billing calculation.
Measure What it means What to request
Product net weight The cases themselves, excluding packing. Product-only weight for the exact variants; not a freight billing total.
Carton gross weight Cases plus bags/boxes, inserts, dividers and outer carton. Measured gross weight for every carton type and the total shipment.
External volume The space occupied by sealed cartons or the quoted palletized load. Outer L × W × H, units, carton count and any pallet dimensions.
Chargeable weight A service-specific billing quantity; it may use actual or volumetric weight. Carrier/forwarder rule, divisor or density basis, rounding and minimum charges.

A product page’s individual-package weight is not a measured master-carton weight. Multiplying it by the order quantity can miss outer packing, different variants or empty space. Label provisional figures as estimates and recheck the packed shipment.

A volume example—not a freight quotation

Hypothetical carton: 40 × 30 × 25 cm; gross weight 4 kg.

  • Physical volume: 40 × 30 × 25 ÷ 1,000,000 = 0.03 m³.
  • If the selected express service uses a 5,000 divisor: 40 × 30 × 25 ÷ 5,000 = 6 kg volumetric weight.
  • Under a higher-of-actual-or-volumetric rule, the example’s billing basis is 6 kg before any service rounding or minimums.

DHL Express documents the 5,000 cm³/kg calculation and comparison with actual weight in its weight and dimensions guidance. This is not a universal air/sea divisor. Confirm the selected service’s rule and calculate each parcel as required.

Retail packing can change the freight calculation

  • Bag or sleeve: confirm surface protection and pieces per carton; do not assume the smallest pack is suitable.
  • Retail box: include its thickness, insert and hang-tab in the packing plan.
  • Mixed variants: stand mechanisms, flip covers and different device sizes can change the carton layout.
  • Master carton or pallet: confirm protection, stacking and actual outer dimensions after packing.

Ask Kejie to compare feasible packing options for the same product quantity. Request the resulting carton count, gross weight and volume for each option. Do not quote a bag-packed load and then ship the same quantity in retail boxes without rechecking freight.

Use the custom packaging guide to define the pack. Keep product cost, packing cost and shipping charges separate when reviewing the manufacturing cost breakdown.

Product references to include in your packing enquiry

Check what the quoted amount actually includes

Charge or service Question before accepting
Pickup and origin handling Is collection included? Are origin handling and export documentation itemized?
Main carriage Which route/service and billing basis apply? Are fuel or other applicable surcharges included?
Destination handling Are terminal, deconsolidation or other local charges included where applicable?
Import clearance Who arranges it, who is importer of record, and are brokerage charges included?
Duties and taxes Who pays, on what declared shipment details, and are these included or separate?
Final delivery and cover Is the exact postcode covered? Check delivery/access charges, insurance, claim process and exclusions.

Door delivery does not by itself mean duty-paid delivery. Under DAP, the buyer handles import clearance; DDP assigns import clearance and duties to the seller, subject to the rule’s obligations and practical local constraints. See ICC Academy’s DAP/DDP explanation. Confirm the actual agreed term, named place and itemized quote; no worldwide tax-paid service is promised here.

  1. Compare the same order, packing and destination across offers.
  2. Match carton data to the final packing list before booking.
  3. Confirm when the goods will be ready, the estimated journey time and what could affect arrival.
  4. Approve the selected quote, validity and exclusions in writing.

For scheduling, connect the freight plan to the sample-to-bulk lead-time guide. Transit estimates are not production lead time or a guaranteed customs release date.
